Luftgekühlt Copenhagen
Luftgekühlt Copenhagen was more than just another stop on the Euro tour - it was a full-on experience, layered with detail, community, and heritage. From the moment we arrived Friday evening, we knew this one was going to be special.
The weekend kicked off quietly with a pre-event in the heart of the city. As golden hour settled over the rooftops, air-cooled Porsches began pulling into a cozy courtyard. The energy was relaxed but buzzing - cars parked up under string lights, people grabbing drinks, and conversations sparking between strangers who all somehow felt like old friends.
“50 years of the Turbo”
Saturday morning brought the main event, and Luft delivered - big time. Hosted at a beautiful small airport just outside Copenhagen, it felt like a scene straight out of a design magazine. Minimalist hangars, open sky, and that unmistakable scent of petrol and old leather. The lineup was stacked - original 356’s, a Le man 917 and Pablo Escobar’s original RSR! Turbocharged icons such as the 930 and 964 were positioned on wooden plinths to celebrate 50 years of the Turbo. It was a respectful nod to Porsche’s deep legacy.
Did you say Pablo Escobar’s Porsche RSR??
Yep - you heard it right! Pablo Escobar’s former Porsche RSR… rumoured to have been raced and driven hard, it had words to prove it. Inside the cockpit, written across the dash, were two haunting reminders: “Press clutch to floor for up & down shift” and “Rev limit 7,700.” It wasn’t just a car - it was a piece of history placed in our time.
This blog couldn’t have been completed without the main man himself… Magnus Walker. Casually floating through the event like a rock star who’s still grounded in what it’s all about - people and passion. We chatted about Porsches and life whilst drinking the Jagermeister’s he’d chucked us.
Get out and Drive! CheeRS…
As the evening rolled in and the sky turned a soft orange, we made our way over to the hangar for the post-event gathering. The energy shifted from the buzz of the day to something much more mellow. Inside, the space had been softly lit - warm light reflecting off the iconic Porsche curves. We sank into low couches, surrounded by the cars we’d spent the day admiring.
An honourable mention must go out to Patrick Long, Jeff Zwart and the Luft team. Without their creativity and dedication, these moments of joy would never have been born. The attention to detail was second to none.
